Statement as of 2:38 PM CST on January 31, 2015

...Winter Weather Advisory now in effect from 6 PM this evening to 6 PM CST Sunday...

* timing...snow will continue through Sunday morning...then decrease Sunday afternoon.

* Accumulations...4 to 6 inches.

* Wind and visibility...visibility will drop to three quarters of a mile or less in falling snow. Northeast winds will become northerly by early Sunday...averaging 15 to 30 mph which will cause some drifting snow in open areas.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities...and use caution while driving.

Statement as of 4:00 PM CST on January 31, 2015

...Special Weather Statement...

A wintry mix of precipitation including light snow...sleet...and even some freezing drizzle is occurring along and south of Interstate 90 late this afternoon. Untreated Road surfaces will be very slick. It is expected that the wintry mix will changeover to all snow by around 6 PM.
