Up In The Air

Stormy night in the Denver Metro area. So far 6 weak tornadoes reported but no damage, all in open country. I went out storm spotting for a couple hours. Our Amateur Radio Emergency Services team (ARES D-22) wasn't officially activated but some of us went out anyway. I ran in to heavy rain and 40 mph+ winds but no hail or tornadoes. Good practice. Parker, CO and areas around it got several inches of quarter sized hail. There will probably be damage from that in the morning.
There were also some reports of roads flooding out east. This massive cell just sat over the area rotating for about three hours.

This morning Randy had to prune a lot of branches off our Washington cherry tree. They were hanging low and had many small breaks thanks to our heavy, wet snow we had a couple of weeks ago. It rained first so the snow froze to the leaves and blossoms. We couldn't even shake it off. My precious tree should recover though.Otherwise cooler today and windy. We have a cold front moving through.
